Honfleur is in a handy location in Normandy, being situated between the Côte d’Albâtre (Le Havre, Etretat etc.) and the Côte Fleurie (Deauville, Trouville and further afield the D-Day beaches), not to mention being close to the Pays d’Auge, a green paradise of rolling prairies and timber-framed country mansions. Before journeying off round Normandy, get the most from the hotel’s location by visiting Honfleur on foot. Located at the entrance to the Vieux Bassin at the heart of the historic centre, you’ll be able to soak in the light of a town that has inspired some of the world’s greatest painters.
There are hundreds and hundreds of jewels to seek out around the Vieux Bassin and Le Cheval Blanc. There’s the Quai Sainte-Catherine with its tall, narrow houses, as well as the Sainte-Catherine and Saint-Etienne churches (the former being one of the most remarkable in Normandy). There’s the Enclos district with its two Greniers à Sel (salt granaries), both of which are listed historic monuments. Then visit the Eugène Boudin Museum which houses a collection of pre-Impressionist and contemporary paintings by Norman painters who stayed in Honfleur at one point (such as Courbet, Boudin, Dubourg, Jongkind, Monet, Dufy, Friesz, Gernez, Hambourg, Herbo…), plus stop by the Maisons Satie where you’ll follow an original scenic and musical trail that pays homage to the classical composer Erik Satie (born here in 1866). Plus don’t miss the Musée de la Marine, the Museum of Ethnography and all the other art galleries.

Classed as a seaside and tourist resort town, Honfleur is also great for relaxing and getting away from it all by the sea. Butin Beach has all the facilities you’ll need to enjoy the beach comfortably and safely during the summer season. You can also enjoy boat rides on the sea and estuary (departure in front of the hotel).
